Finally: Gmail Lets You Multi-Select Attachments

Share/Save/BookmarkSubscribe
This has probably been my #1 Gmail pet peeve since I started using the service 4 or 5 years ago, and now it has finally been addressed: the ability to upload multiple attachments at once, rather than one-by-one. Additionally, when you attach files, you’ll now get a progress bar indicating how long until the file is uploaded and ready to be sent.
Now, Gmail essentially works like any other service on the Web that lets you upload files. When you click “attach a file” when composing an email, you can browse your computer and select multiple files by holding down the CTRL key on Windows machines, or Cmd on Mac. Once you’re finished, Gmail starts uploading and keeps you posted on the upload status.

It’s somewhat baffling that this feature took so long, while Gmail pushed things like beer goggles for email instead. But Google’s new found focus on adding utility to Gmail makes us happy, as in recent weeks we’ve also seen the addition of offline support and easier options for moving and archiving messages.

Gmail Down, Panic Mode On (Update: It’s Back Up Again)

Share/Save/BookmarkSubscribe

Gmail is down, like you you can see in a) that test by you same or b) to listen the tortured cries on Twitter. He is funny and something ironic to see people when Twitter one of the services of Google is as well down: generally, it is the other way around.

The test of open Gmail at the moment will cause " error of servant 502: The servant found an error temporary and solicitud." has not been able to complete his; The aid to other products of Google, like the investigation, the reader, etc., is working well.

There is no official word from Google on the failure still. As always, it seems difficult to me, on the account of Gmail and all the fault one extends affect my work and that thinks Google is not bulletproof as the majority of people usually thinks that it is.

*Update: Google has posted a short note about the outage on their support page:
“We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a number of users. This problem occurred at approximately 1:30AM Pacific Time. We’re working hard to resolve this problem and will post updates as we have them. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.”
*Update #2: Gmail is now back up for me and many other users. Still no word about it on Gmail’s official blog.

Gmail Now Tells You Where Your Email Comes From

Share/Save/BookmarkSubscribe

Google has been recently in the fire, the liberation of new characteristics almost on a daily basis. The last one is a new option for the laboratories that Gmail lets add your location to the signature.

For those of us who feel like in front of the same table throughout the year, that is not exciting, but you are going to travel much, it can find being pleasant so that people know where she is. By all means, if for some reason you do not wish that all know where it is at any time, is probable that thus to forget this option completely.

Its position is determined by its public direction IP, which means that not always it works perfectly. If it wishes more precise detection of position, installs a version of Google Gears that supports the position of the module.

Gmail Gets Multiple Inboxes; Now Please Give Us Multiple Accounts

Share/Save/BookmarkSubscribe

When I saw the words "multiple inboxes" on Gmail's official blog this morning, I was happy as a child, because I thought that we were finally getting the ability to have more than one Gmail account open in the same browser (currently I'm using the add - Firefox Gmail manager for this purpose, but does not work perfectly). However, the options of multiple inboxes that is gradually unroll users now (I still do not see, because they always get the last, I wonder?), Refers only to the labels. That is, you can create a view of the split-pane of your Inbox with various inboxes filtered by various labels. Do not get me wrong, it is a great feature, I do not personally use the labels too, but those who want to preserve in the heart probably this possibility. However, I would really see an opportunity to get a view of the split-pane with various inboxes from Gmail customers within a window of Gmail. Who's with me?
